Going Green
Going Green with out spending  the $Green$

What a buzz  and what does it mean to you and your HVAC / Refrigeration equipment ?  I would like to think that we can take a practical approach to meeting your needs and preserving the environment at the same time, without it costing you a lot of $Green$
First of all maintaining the equipment that you have in place to preserve its useful life is the first step. Cleaning evaporators, and condensers, minimizes power usage, some times reducing operating pressures (high side) by 100 lbs. or more.  Having the correct refrigerant charge maximizes efficiency as well, a low or high charge can reduce efficiency by 20%. Of course clean filters and proper belt tension are a must for proper air flow. All of the above steps are not a large financial outlay and will pay for themselves, by saving energy and preventing major repairs like compressor failures. You will also be more comfortable knowing that your equipment is operating at its highest level of efficiency, reliability and comfort.
Set back thermostats are a really good way to save on Energy and operating costs.
Next we need to recognize that everything has a life span of reliable operation and should be prepared to purchase new equipment with a higher efficiency rating when it is time to replace the equipment. A little planning goes a long way here.
A small thing that we do at Hank’s  is make sure that all failed  parts and equipment that have any recyclable materials are not disposed of in land fills but are returned to a recycling center. We also recycle all refrigerants that are recovered from equipment so it is not vented into our atmosphere.

So there you have it just a few small ways can make a big difference. In the long run it will save you a lot of $green$ and keep our environment green as well.
. Going Green not expensive but priceless.  From all of us at Hanks Refrigeration Inc.
Have a great summer
